In the morning we sent Dipro to the central police station to seek clearance for flying as it is easier if foreigners aren’t involved in the process. He was subsequently sent on a wild goose chase of Indian bureaucracy ending up at the High Magistrates and hopefully we will have permission by Monday.

What we are also trying to do now is gather a data set of GPS ground points so that we can compare them to the GPS in the UX5 to see how accurate it is and what distortions it has and whether it is necessary to use ground points at all if there is only minimal distortion from just the UX5 data. So to look at this we went out to the airfield to take control points using the V10 imaging system and the R10 rover connected to a R10 base. there were quite a few complications with getting it to work with some of them simply being a needing to be reconfigured after a system update. In the end we got there and so we have a lot of control points to process tomorrow but thankfully everything is moving along nicely and it looks like we are on track to collect all the data and maybe even process it all before we leave India.
