Last night it was Rajiv’s birthday so we went to his house and had cake followed by dinner with his family and friends which was really nice. The food was also great partially due to the fact that it wasn’t very spicy meaning that I could go the whole dinner without gasping for air and necking back glasses of water which was a pleasant change. It was also interesting to see the extended family dynamic and hear/learn more about IITK and India in general – I found out that there are herds of a horse/cow crossbreeds roaming campus but i have still yet to see them.
On another note I also found out today that ‘cake’ is what they call human faces when people defecate in the open and then it bakes hard – food for thought?
