Being a Sunday there were very few other people were working so we couldn’t go anywhere to collect data. So as you have probably guessed from the title today was all about processing. We collated all of the data till present and used ground and aerial GPS points in the models and validated them. This took a lot of time especially when manually selecting the validation points in multiple images. What was more interesting is that we compared the DEM created solely from the UX5 GPS coordinates to the one where ground validation points were used to compare them. What we found is that the GPS in the UX5 is very accurate and therefore for our project almost renders gathering ground control points a waste of time although we will probably collect some anyway just to add greater accuracy to the DEM.
